GOVERNMENT URGES PRIORITISATION OF PR IN INSTITUTIONS.

Chief Government Spokesperson, Honourable Cornelius Mweetwa, has urged both public and private institutions to prioritize Public Relations and Communications in their operations to ensure visibility.

Honourable Mweetwa emphasized the significance of the Public Relations profession in curating and managing the communication agenda of any institution or country.

He pledged government's support for initiatives aimed at enhancing the capacity of Public Relations and Communication Practitioners to effectively drive the country's strategic agenda.

Speaking at the official opening of the Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communications (ZIPRC) 2024 Annual Conference in Livingstone, Hon. Mweetwa highlighted the importance of robust communication strategies in driving the country's agenda.

The Public Service Pensions Fund (PSPF) was among the many institutions participating in the event held under the theme "Innovate and Elevate: Shaping the future of Public Relations in Zambia".

In 2023, PSPF received recognition at the Annual Public Relations and Communication Awards Gala held at Radisson Blu Resort in Livingstone. The Fund was honored for "BEST PUBLICATION" for the Pensions Insight Magazine and thr Internal Staff Newsletter, and "BEST EVENT MANAGEMENT" for the official launch of the Longacres Mall, surpassing several contenders.

During the conference, Zambia Institute of Public Relations and Communications President Irene Lungu Chipili praised the dedication of government officials and Public Relations practitioners in fostering effective communication with the public.

Others who graced the Official opening of the event were Presidential Delivery Unit Director Communications and Outreach Ms. Besa Kyanamina and National Institute of Public Administration Executive Director Professor Royson Mukwena.
